What to see in Puget sur Argens
Situated 6 km from our campsite in Roquebrune sur Argens Les Pêcheurs, on the road to Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël, the commune of Puget-sur-Argens enjoys an exceptional geographical location. This Var town is nestled in the Argens valley, between the Maures and Estérel mountains, two massifs that are a veritable paradise for hikers and nature lovers.
The town boasts a rich heritage, including the Gothic-style Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur church, the clock tower, the belfry and the remains of the Sainte Philomène chapel. This commune of just 8,000 inhabitants also boasts a dynamic cultural scene, with a theater (Victor Hugo) and the Paul Cézanne center offering year-round exhibitions and shows.
As you explore Puget-sur-Argens, you’ll have to learn to read between the lines of the past, to uncover its secrets. If you’re observant and curious by nature, you’ll enter the library to observe the old 13th-century oven, and in rue Callas you’ll see the window wells through which grapes were transported to make wine.
