Campsite on the banks of the Argens river
Water really is at the heart of Les Pêcheurs. Situated between the red rocks of the Estérel and the vineyards of the Var, our 4-star campsite in Roquebrune-sur-Argens lives up to its name: it runs alongside the Argens river and enjoys an unspoilt green setting, shaded by the trees on the riverbank.
At the entrance to the medieval village, on the banks of the river and just 100 m from Lac de l’Aréna, you can enjoy a rare natural environment, while remaining just ten kilometers from the beaches of Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël. Here, river, lake and sea meet: an ideal starting point for those who love fishing, water sports or simply strolling along the water’s edge, in a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

Refreshing swim from the campsite
Dreaming of a vacation where you can forget about the car? At Les Pêcheurs, the river is very close to your accommodation: a small floating pontoon, on the banks of the Argens, gives direct access to the water and to the canoes and kayaks moored on site. It’s a natural complement to the aquatic area, ideal for a change of atmosphere between the swimming pool and the river.
From this pontoon, you can set off on a leisurely canoe or kayak trip along a generally calm current, accessible to the whole family. Far from the hustle and bustle of the coastline, these outings allow you to enjoy the scenery, observe the wildlife along the banks and savor the silence of the river, before returning easily to the campsite to extend the day by the swimming pool or on the terrace of your accommodation.

We answer your questions about the river and lake
Is it possible to swim in the river from the campsite?
No, it’s not possible to swim in the Argens directly from the campsite, as there’s no dedicated access. However, you can swim at Lac de l’Aréna, located just opposite the campsite about 100 m away, where you’ll find a beach and a nautical base to enjoy the water in complete safety.
Do I need a fishing license?
As the Argens is a public river, you need a fishing permit to fish on it. If you don’t have one, you can buy one easily from local dealers in Roquebrune-sur-Argens or directly online from the Var fishing federation.
Is canoeing equipment provided?
Yes, a few canoes and kayaks are available for holidaymakers. They can be borrowed for about an hour at a time, in exchange for a deposit deposited at reception. Simply ask the team for details and available time slots.
Are there mosquitoes in the river?
As in any Mediterranean region near water, mosquitoes can be a problem, especially in summer. However, we are careful to limit the amount of stagnant water on the campsite and to regularly maintain the outdoor areas, which helps to reduce nuisance while respecting the local environment.
Can I walk to Arena Lake?
Absolutely. Lac de l’Aréna is just across the road from the campsite. It’s within easy reach on foot or by bike. It’s a pleasant, safe walk that lets you enjoy the leisure park without ever needing to take your car.
